Privacy policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026. This policy applies to the pourquoipas.ch website and its booking form. It complies with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors from the European Union, the GDPR.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Cuzzo Sàrl, operator of “Pourquoi Pas ? Bar & Tapas”, Rue de la Filature 23, 1227 Carouge (Geneva). For any question: pourquoipascarouge@gmail.com or +41 77 816 64 34.
2. The data we collect
When you book a table through the website form, we only collect what you enter:
- your name, phone number and email address;
- the date, time and number of guests;
- your message, if any (special occasion, allergy…);
- if you place one, your pre-order and its notes;
- the language of the page you book from (French or English), so that we can write to you in that language.
Your IP address is used temporarily (24 hours at most) to limit abusive submissions, and may appear in the host's technical logs. We use no audience measurement or tracking tools.
3. Why we use it
- Managing your booking: emailing you the acknowledgement and then our reply, welcoming you, preparing your order and contacting you if needed (performance of your booking request).
- Protecting the website against abuse and spam (legitimate interest).
We send no advertising or newsletters, and we never sell or pass on your data for commercial purposes.
4. Who has access to it
- The bar's team, through a restricted management tool: only individually authorised devices can access it.
- The website's technical host (Hostinger), which stores the data on our behalf on servers located in France. The website's pages go through its content delivery network (CDN), which may process your IP address on servers located in other countries.
- Google (Gmail), through which we send the confirmation emails from the bar's address. Google's servers may be located outside Switzerland and the European Union, in particular in the United States.
5. How long we keep it
Booking data is kept for 12 months after the date of the booking, so that we can answer any question or complaint about your visit, and is then deleted automatically. Technical backup copies are kept for at most 14 additional days. The IP address used against abuse is erased after 24 hours.
6. Cookies and third-party services
- No tracking, audience measurement or advertising cookies on this website.
- The fonts are hosted on our own server: no data is sent to Google for them.
- Google Maps: the map only loads if you click “Show the interactive map”. Google may then set cookies and process your IP address under its own privacy policy. You can also simply follow the “Directions” link.
- The links to Google Maps and Instagram send nothing until you click them.
- A technical authentication cookie exists only in the internal tool reserved for staff; it is never set for website visitors.
7. Your rights
You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, by writing to pourquoipascarouge@gmail.com or by calling us. We reply within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if you live in the European Union, the data protection authority of your country.
8. Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Bookings are stored in a database that cannot be accessed from the internet, and the team's access is limited to authorised devices, which we can revoke at any time.
